What should I keep in mind about multi-company channels?

Multi-company channels are ideal for connecting and boosting collaboration among teams. In this post, we have gathered all the information you should keep in mind when using them. Let's get started!

What do you need to create a multi-company channel?

  • All the companies within the group must have Sesame installed and be connected to one another.
  • Every company in the group must have Community installed.

Characteristics of multi-company channels

  • Multi-company channels can be public (visible to everyone in the shared companies) or private (visible only to those you invite, as well as general roles and those with the role of communicator).
  • All posts made in a multi-company channel will appear in the News feed.
  • When you share a channel with a company, the following message will appear in the channel's feed: "This channel has been shared with XXX".

How to manage multi-company channels?

  • You can share a channel with any company you manage.
  • You can invite users from companies with which the channel has not been shared, as long as they have a general role or the role of communicator.
  • You can modify the channel configuration (such as sharing or deleting companies) from Channel >> Quick actions (three-dot button) >> Configuration.
