What does it mean to deactivate an employee, and how can I do it?

If someone no longer works at your company or doesn’t need access to Sesame, you can either delete or deactivate them at any time.

To deactivate an employee, go to their profile and follow this path: Configuration >> Deactivate user.
If you need to deactivate several employees at once, you can do it in bulk by selecting them in Employees >> Bulk actions >> Deactivate user.

⚠️ Important: When you deactivate an employee, their access to the platform will be revoked, but all their associated information will be preserved (unlike what happens when you delete them). The profile will remain inactive, won’t consume a license, and can be reactivated later at no additional cost. Best of all, disabling an employee frees up a slot to create a new user.

Delete or deactivate?

If you’re unsure, the safest option is to deactivate the user. This way, you’ll always have the flexibility to either reactivate them or permanently delete them later on.
