What types of roles exist in Sesame, and what are their characteristics?

In Sesame, there are two types of roles: General and Specific.

Each of these has two subtypes: “default roles”, and “custom roles”. Default roles are pre-installed in every account so you can start using Sesame right away. Custom roles can be created from scratch or by duplicating a default role.

As a result of the combination of the types and subtypes, we have:

  • Default General roles.
  • Custom General roles.
  • Default Specific roles.
  • Custom Specific roles.

Characteristics of the roles

Default General roles:

  • They come preinstalled in Sesame.
  • They are the old Higher Roles.
  • They manage the entire company.
  • They have access to all the sections/tools.
  • They can edit any element, regardless of who created it.
  • They cannot be edited or deleted; only Holders can be assigned.

Custom General roles:

  • They are created from scratch or by duplicating a Default General Role.
  • They manage the entire company.
  • They can edit any element, regardless of who created it.
  • Access levels, as well as the role name and description can be edited, even deleted. In addition, holders can be assigned.
